Healthy Baking Powder Biscuits
1/4 cup coconut oil 2 cups white whole wheat flout 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup non dairy milk of choice. |
Heat oven to 450 degrees. Cut coconut oil into flour, baking powder and salt in large mixing bowl with a pastry blender or fork, until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in just enough milk so dough leaves side of bowl and forms a ball. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface, knead lightly for 1/2 minute. Roll to 1/2 inch thick, cut with biscuit cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until biscuits are golden brown, 12-14 minutes. Serve Hot! |
Oat Waffles |
4 cups rolled oats 1/2 cup millet or cornmeal 1 t. salt 1 t. vanilla 1/4 cup agave nectar 1/2 cup almonds 5 cups water. |
Blend all ingredients, and allow to rest up to one hour or overnight. Blend again in small batches just before baking, add more water if needed. Preheat waffle iron, pour in batter (amount depending on the size of your waffle iron) Bake 8-10 minutes, until browned. Serve immediately. |

2 cups chickpea flour
2 1/2 cups water 3 T. olive oil 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 T grated onion 1 T. chopped thyme,or rosemary 1/2-1 t. cumin 1 t. salt |
Saute onion, garlic and herbs in olive oil till soft.
Mix all ingredients, allow to rest 30 minutes to 2 hours. Preheat over to 450 degrees Preheat cast iron skillets or 2 pizza pans Spray pans with oil spray, Pour 1/2 batter into each pizza pan.or skillet Bake 10-15 minutes until beginning to brown, Remove from oven, remove from pan, turn socca over, return to pan and return to oven for 5-10 minutes till slightly browned. Cut into individual pieces, serve warm or room temperature.. |
Golden Corn Bread |
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour 3/4 cup yellow corn meal 1/2 t. stevia sweetener 4 t. baking powder 1 t. salt 1 T, flax meal mixed with 3 T. very hot water 1 cup non dairy milk 1/3 cup vegetable oil |
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Mix flax meal with water and allow to rest Mix together all dry ingredients. Combine milk, oil and flax mixture Stir liquid mixture into dry mixture with a fork, until flour is just moistened. Do not over mix! Quickly turn into a greased 8x8 inch pan, spread evenly Bake about 30 minutes, or until done. |
Irish Soda Bread |
2 1/2 cups white whole wheat flour
1/2 cup what germ 1/2 t. salt 1 1/2 t. baking powder 2 cups, minus 2 T. non dairy milk 2 T. lemon juice 2 T. olive oil |
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients, make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Mix milk, lemon juice and oil, pour into well in flour mixture and mix until just mixed. Pour into an oiled 7-8 inch iron skillet, bake for 40 minutes or until it begins to brown and tooth pick comes out clean. cool in pan for 3-4 minutes, remove from pan and serve hot. |
